Conventions & Trade Shows & Promotions... Oh, My

I know we are just now entering the middle of summer but already people are gearing up for the Fall Conventions. No, not just the Democratic and Republican Conventions. Many will be heading to a variety of different conventions for their company or business. No sooner are the kiddies back in school than mom or dad are headed off to a trade show.

I used to work for a publisher and I well remember the amount of planning and preparation it took to put together attractive displays that would catch people's eye. If you find yourself in need of a little creative help for your trade show display you will want to investigate the products of the Godfrey Group. They offer a variety of custom trade show displays, from full-scale booths and exhibits to portable pop ups and accessories. Check them out.

Transgender Activists Go Topless In Massachusetts

So much for a quiet stroll out with the kids, at least in Northhampton, Massachusetts.

Transgender activists marched down the main street in Northampton last week, carrying signs demanding the passage of new laws to end discrimination against transsexuals.

Both male and female marchers, at various stages of hormone treatments and surgical alteration to change their appearance from male to female or vice versa, decided to boldly strip off their shirts and walk down the street topless. More than just seeking to show off their anatomical wares, the activists were seeking approval of the increasingly demanding transgender agenda.

"The activists knew they had a critical mass of people in Northampton that wouldn't object to women without shirts," said Amy Contrada, a leader in the Massachusetts pro-family movement, MassResistance. "This is what we're going to start seeing all over the nation. This was a trial balloon for the transgender movement."

Contrada cited Northampton as one of three cities in Massachusetts that have ordinances forbidding discrimination against transsexuals. The city, according to Contrada, has become a magnet for the radical lesbian and transgender movement, making it an ideal place for staging a topless march that might be restricted elsewhere.

"With anti-discrimination ordinances in place, there's no way a policeman would arrest a woman for being shirtless, because she could say she's not a woman, and under the ordinance, she gets to determine whether she's female or not," Contrada said.

Federal government bans flag-folding recitations following one complaint

Is there no limit to what people will complain about? The AFA had this to say about it,

"Following one complaint, the Veterans Administration has made anti-Christian bigotry the law of the land. The U.S. government has bowed to pressure from one radical anti-Christian secularist. Allowed to stand, the action by the Veterans Administration, in essence, means that anti-Christian bigotry is now the accepted and approved law of the land."

ACLU attack veteran memorials bearing religious symbols

An excerpt from an article by Wendy Cloyd at CitizenLink (HT: Maritime Sentry:

The ACLU and its allies have indicated that both Mt. Soledad and Mojave are test cases, Napier said. If they are successful, they plan on attacking any memorial that displays any religious symbol.

"They have this vision for America that is stripped and sanitized of any religious reference," he said.

Such groups, Napier said, claim they aren't opposed to veterans, just religious symbols – but attacking memorials dishonors the memory of veterans.

"Veterans fought for these very freedoms," he said, "the freedom to worship, the freedom to express religious thought, the freedom to erect memorials that bear religious symbols."
